Fontaine Avenue Streetscape Improvement Steering Committee – The upcoming Fontaine Ave Streetscape Project is seeking a Fry’s Spring Neighborhood representative to serve on the committee. UVA Parking and Transportation Plan – The University is seeking input to help plan for the next 10 years of parking and transportation on Grounds. Open comment sessions are scheduled for Sept. 6 & 7th. If you are unable to attend the sessions, you may submit your comments at: http://www.uva-transportation.com/ until September 14th. Cleveland Avenue Litter Pickup – The Fry’s Spring Neighborhood Association has taken on Cleveland Avenue under the Adopt-a-Street program and periodically we ask for volunteers to help pick up roadside litter. The next litter removal is scheduled for Saturday, 8 September, 9:00 AM. Please join us! We will meet at the upper, west end of Cleveland, at the bus stop. Volunteers will be given trash bags, rubber gloves, and an orange safety vest. With a few as four people, we can make Cleveland shine in under an hour. And with a few more folks, we might even be able to get JPA Extended looking good, too, and in the process, help out the good neighbor who adopted that street.
2018 Charlottesville Veteran & Community Job Fair – The 2018 Charlottesville Veteran & Community Job Fair will be will be held on Wednesday, September 12th from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Jefferson School City Center Carver Recreation Center in downtown Charlottesville (233 4th St. NW, Charlottesville, VA 22903). Employers from a wide variety of industries will be present. For a current list, please visit www.charlottesville.org/jobcenter. The fair is open to the public and admission for job seekers is free. Charlottesville Triathlon returns to Fry’s Spring – the Charlottesville Sprint Triathlon, Duathlon and 5K Run will be held on September 23rd at the Fry’s Spring Beach Club.
