We are meeting in-person. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall so we will have a larger space to spread out. Masks are required. We encourage everyone to get vaccinated. We will follow CDC guidance.
We have invited two speakers to teach us about invasive plants and how to control them:
Beth Mizell, a Blue Ridge PRISM volunteer and Tim Maywalt, a volunteer with both PRISM and Charlottesville Area Tree Stewards will speak on invasive vines in trees, the benefits of controlling them, and control techniques. PRISM is Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management, https://blueridgeprism.org/ Weather permitting, we plan to walk outside of the church to look at actual vines and invasive species as sort of a “field trip.”
We will also provide some updates on local developments and Oktoberfest.
CALL FOR BOARD MEMBERS FOR FSNA. At our Oktoberfest Annual Meeting, we will elect our Board for 2022. We have several wonderful Board members who are stepping back this year and we have at least four openings. We offer encouragement to anyone who would like to join and are especially hopeful that renters, people of color, or young people under 35 will consider running for Board election. It is a one-year commitment. It’s not a lot of work and helps keep your neighborhood informed and active. If you have any questions please contact the Co-Presidents: fsnapresident@
