The FSNA Board maintains its stance that this development cannot be built without significant investments for public safety on the entire length of Stribling Ave. At present there appears to be ZERO movement by the City toward that end. The Board is ready to formally oppose this development should the City and the Developer continue to ignore our concerns. There are numerous other issues with this proposal which we will outline in our comments to the Planning Commission. While we support efforts to increase density and provide more affordable housing, it cannot be done without the infrastructure to support more people and traffic
Charlottesville Plans Together Process
Project Updates
From May 3 to June 13, the Cville Plans Together team solicited community feedback on draft Comprehensive Plan chapters, including a draft Future Land Use Map.
In response, the Charlottesville community submitted over 2,300 comments and questions via email, phone, interactive map, online and paper surveys, pop-up events, and webinars. Thank you for the time and effort you took to attend events and share your questions and comments with us!
On June 29, the Cville Plans Together team met with the Planning Commission to share a high-level summary of this community input. A more detailed document summarizing engagement activities and results is available here. The Cville Plans Together team is refining and will share responses to common questions.
The team has also been drafting revisions to the Comprehensive Plan, including the chapters and the Future Land Use Map, based on input received in May and June.

Planning Commission Work Session – August 31, 5:30pm
The Cville Plans Together team will meet with the Planning Commission for a virtual Work Session on August 31, 2021, at 5:30pm.
At this meeting, we will share proposed revisions to the Future Land Use Map and discuss potential revisions to the Land Use, Urban Form, and Historic & Cultural Preservation Chapter.
There will not be a vote on the Comprehensive Plan or Future Land Use Map at this meeting. A public comment period will be available for those who are interested in speaking.
