Southern Development Proposal for 240 Stribling Ave Advances to Planning Commission Public Hearing

Tentative September 14th public hearing before Planning Commission. We don’t have the details yet.

TIME TO PROVIDE YOUR INPUT IS NOW!  The August 2nd email from the City Planning Department can be found here: http://fsna.avenue.org/240-stribling-update/

Submitted materials can be found on the FSNA website here: http://fsna.avenue.org/240-stribling-ave-project-updates/

To submit comments to the Planning Commission email: planningcommission@charlottesville.gov

Please always copy the City Council: council@charlottesille.gov.

The FSNA Board maintains its stance that this development cannot be built without significant investments for public safety on the entire length of Stribling Ave. At present there appears to be ZERO movement by the City toward that end.  The Board is ready to formally oppose this development should the City and the Developer continue to ignore our concerns. There are numerous other issues with this proposal which we will outline in our comments to the Planning Commission.  While we support efforts to increase density and provide more affordable housing, it cannot be done without the infrastructure to support more people and traffic
